If you have not driven on a motorway before, or perhaps not in a while, then this is for you.

The lesson is a Three Hour Lesson and will consist of both theory and practical instruction. Before going onto the motorway we will discuss the use of motorways and various procedures to be used. Part way through the drive we will go to a motorway service station to discus how the lesson is going and to talk through any problems you may have encountered.

We then rejoin the motorway to improve your skills, paying particular attention to any previous problems. At the end of the lesson we will have a chat and decide if you are confident enough to drive on the motorway on your own. Further training may be necessary. The lesson will include the time it takes to get to and from the motorway.

Listed  below are things that will be covered:

Prepare yourself and vehicle for journey.
Route planning, map reading and use of sat.nav.
Joining the motorway.
Planning ahead,
Correct lane discipline. 
Use of mirrors.
Safe separation distance when following other vehicles,(the 2 second rule).
Overtaking.
Leaving the motorway.
What to do if you breakdown, including safe use of the Hard Shoulder. This part covered in theory only. Hopefully!!!
