Theory Test
The Theory Test consists of two parts.
The first part is a question and answer test of a multiple-choice format using a touch screen computer. The computer will display each question in turn and show you the required number of answers you must choose, before you can move onto the next question. You will be able to move back through the questions, to check your answers and amend if necessary. There are 50 questions and the pass mark is 43.
The second part of the test is a Hazard Perception Test. This is designed to test your observational skills and perception of developing hazards. You will be shown 14 short video clips, each containing at least one hazard. You must click the mouse, each time you see a hazard, or as you see the hazard develop further, to register that you have seen the hazard. The sooner you see the hazard, and click the mouse to register, the more points you will get. The computer will decide which hazard to mark you on, so be sure to recognise each hazard. One of the clips will register a double hazard to mark you on a total of 15 hazards. There is a maximum of 5 marks available for each hazard making a total of 75 marks on offer. The pass mark is 44. Be careful not to just keep clicking the mouse needlessly because the computer will think you are cheating!!! You will then record no points for that particular clip.
